Frequently asked questions

Answers to common questions about Meetable dinners. Pricing, how matching works, who attends, and what to expect on the night.

What is Meetable?

Meetable is a real-world social network. Every week, we seat small groups of four to six strangers at curated dinners in Cape Town, Johannesburg, Durban, London, and Lisbon. The goal is real friendships, not networking. It is not a dating platform.

How does the matching work?

You take a short personality quiz when you sign up. We match you with four or five strangers based on personality, interests, and conversation style, then place the group at a restaurant that suits the table.

How much does a dinner cost?

The Meetable experience fee is ZAR 200 in South Africa and GBP 12 in London. You pay for your own food and drinks directly at the restaurant.

Can I come to Meetable alone?

Yes. Most guests arrive alone. Meetable is built for solo arrivals, so you do not need to bring a friend or already know anyone at the table.

When and where are dinners?

Thursday evenings. Currently in Cape Town, Johannesburg, Durban, London, and Lisbon. The specific restaurant is revealed to you 24 hours before the dinner.

Who is at the table?

Guests are typically between 25 and 45, split across locals, expats, and remote workers. Minimum age is 21. Every table is balanced for personality, age, and conversation style.

How does Meetable keep dinners safe?

Safety starts before anyone books a seat. Every attendee must pass Persona selfie liveness verification before reserving a Meetable dinner. Profiles stay tied to the same authenticated account, and dinners take place in small groups at real restaurants.

Is there a host or facilitator?

No. There are no hosts, no scripts, and no icebreaker games. The matching does the work so the conversation flows on its own.

What if I do not click with the group?

Most guests rebook. Our current rebook rate is 47 percent and average guest satisfaction is 9.1 out of 10. If a particular dinner is not for you, the next match will be different.

Can I come with a friend?

No. Meetable is for meeting new people. Coming with someone you already know defeats the point and changes the dynamic for the rest of the table.

What should I wear?

Smart casual. Whatever you would wear to a nice dinner with people you wanted to impress lightly.

How do I cancel or reschedule?

You can reschedule up to 48 hours before the dinner from your account. Cancellations within 48 hours are non-refundable because we have already matched and seated the table.

Is Meetable available in my city?

Right now, Cape Town, Johannesburg, Durban, and London. Other cities are on the roadmap. Sign up to the waitlist to be notified when we launch in yours.

Is this a dating app?

No. Meetable is built for friendships, not dating. Tables are balanced for that purpose.
