Cancellation & Refund Policy

Effective 15 October 2026 (version refund-policy-20261015.1). Contact: hello@meetable.social.

Plans change. This policy explains what happens if you cancel a Meetable booking, or if we have to cancel or change an event.

At a glance

  • You cancel 48+ hours before the event: Full Meetable Credit, or a refund minus a small Refund Fee. You choose.
  • You cancel less than 48 hours before: No refund
  • You don't show up: No refund
  • We cancel or materially change the event: A full refund, or Credit or another event if you prefer
  • You can't attend because of a bereavement or hospitalisation: A full refund, at any time

1. Key terms

  • Event: a dinner, drinks or other social experience you book through the Meetable app or website.
  • Ticket: your paid place at an Event. A Ticket covers your seat at the table only. Food and drink are bought separately at the venue, paid to the venue directly, and are not covered by this policy.
  • Ticket Price: the total you paid for a Ticket, including all fees and taxes.
  • Meetable Credit (Credit): value held in your Meetable account that you can use towards future Tickets.
  • Cut-off: 48 hours before the Event's scheduled start time, in the Event's local time.
  • Refund Fee: the amount we keep when you choose a refund instead of Credit: GBP 2, ZAR 30, AUD 4, AED 10, USD 3 or EUR 3 per Ticket, depending on the currency you paid in.
  • We, us, Meetable: Meetable Labs, Inc., 1111B S Governors Ave, #88059, Dover, DE 19904, United States of America.

2. Cancelling before the Cut-off

2.1 You can cancel a Ticket at any time before the Cut-off in the app or on the website.

2.2 When you cancel before the Cut-off, you choose:

  • Meetable Credit for the full Ticket Price, added to your account straight away; or
  • A refund of the Ticket Price minus the Refund Fee, paid to your original payment method.

2.3 If you don't choose, you'll get Meetable Credit for the full Ticket Price. You can ask us to switch this to a refund (minus the Refund Fee) within 14 days, as long as you haven't used the Credit.

2.4 If you paid for the Ticket with Credit, the Credit goes back to your account. It isn't converted to cash.

3. Late cancellations and no-shows

3.1 By the Cut-off, we've confirmed group sizes and table bookings with the venue. If you cancel after the Cut-off, or don't attend, you won't get a refund, except as set out in sections 3.5 and 8.

3.2 We may still offer you Credit for a late cancellation, for example if we can fill your place. This is at our discretion.

3.3 If you're more than 30 minutes late, the group may start without you and the Event counts as attended.

3.4 If you cancel late or miss Events 3 or more times in 2 months, we may limit your ability to book future Events.

3.5 If you can't attend because of a bereavement or hospitalisation, contact us with brief details and we'll refund the full Ticket Price, with no Refund Fee.

4. If we cancel or change an Event

4.1 Sometimes we have to cancel an Event, for example if not enough people book, the venue becomes unavailable, or for safety reasons.

4.2 If we cancel an Event, or make a material change to it, we'll tell you as soon as we can. A material change means a different date, a start time moved by more than 1 hour, a different city or neighbourhood, or a substantially different type of venue. You can then choose:

  • a full refund of the Ticket Price, with no Refund Fee, to your original payment method;
  • Meetable Credit for the full Ticket Price; or
  • a place at an alternative Event we offer.

4.3 You don't have to accept Credit or an alternative Event. If you don't reply within 7 days, we'll refund you in full.

4.4 Changes that don't materially affect the Event, such as a different table or a change to who's in your group, are not material changes.

5. Meetable Credit

5.1 Credit from a payment or cancellation never expires. It stays in your account for as long as your account is open.

5.2 Promotional Credit is Credit we give you for free, for example in a promotion or as a goodwill gesture. It expires 12 months after we issue it. The expiry date is shown in the app.

5.3 Credit can only be used for Events in the country where it was issued, in any city where we run Events in that country. It's held in that country's currency and can't be transferred to, converted for or used in another country.

5.4 Credit has no cash value and can't be withdrawn, except where section 4 or section 8 gives you a right to a refund, or where the law requires it.

5.5 Credit is personal to you and can't be transferred or sold. You can use it to buy a Ticket for a friend.

5.6 If your account is closed, we'll handle any unused Credit as required by the law of the country where it was issued. Promotional Credit has no cash value in any circumstances.

5.7 Your Credit balance is always shown in the app.

6. Ticket bundles

6.1 A bundle is a set of Tickets bought together for one price (the Bundle Price). Each Ticket in a bundle is worth the Bundle Price divided by the number of Tickets (the Bundle Ticket Value). Bundle sizes and prices vary by country and are shown in the app. For example, 4 Tickets for GBP 40 gives a Bundle Ticket Value of GBP 10.

6.2 14-day refund. You can cancel any unused bundle Tickets within 14 days of buying the bundle and get a full refund of their Bundle Ticket Value, with no Refund Fee. This doesn't include a Ticket you booked for a specific Event when you bought the bundle. That Ticket follows sections 2 to 4.

6.3 If you use a bundle Ticket to attend an Event within those 14 days, you're asking us to start providing the service before the 14 days end. If you then cancel the bundle, we deduct the Bundle Ticket Value of each Ticket you've used and refund the rest.

6.4 To cancel a bundle, use Withdraw from contract here in the app, or email hello@meetable.social. We'll confirm by email, with the date and time you sent your request, and refund your original payment method within 14 days.

6.5 After the 14 days, unused bundle Tickets work like any other Ticket. Sections 2 to 5 apply, using the Bundle Ticket Value in place of the Ticket Price.

6.6 Unused bundle Tickets do not expire.

7. How to cancel and when you'll be refunded

7.1 To cancel a Ticket, go to My Events in the app, select the Event and tap Cancel booking. You can also email hello@meetable.social. The time we receive your request is the time of cancellation.

7.2 We'll confirm every cancellation by email, showing whether you got Credit or a refund, and how much.

7.3 Credit is added to your account immediately. Refunds are processed within 5 working days, in the currency and to the payment method you originally used. Your bank may take a further 3–10 working days to show it.

7.4 If you think we got a cancellation wrong, contact us within 30 days at hello@meetable.social and we'll review it. Please contact us before raising a dispute with your bank, as we can usually sort things out faster.

8. Your legal rights by country

8.1 Everywhere. Nothing in this policy affects your legal rights as a consumer where you live. If local law gives you more than this policy does, local law applies.

8.2 United Kingdom. Tickets are for leisure services on a specific date, so the 14-day cancellation period under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 doesn't apply to them. Your other rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 are not affected.

8.3 European Union (including Denmark). Tickets for a specific date are leisure services, so the 14-day right of withdrawal doesn't apply to them. For bundle Tickets not yet booked for a date, you have a 14-day right of withdrawal, as set out in section 6. Prices are shown in local currency and include VAT.

8.4 South Africa. Under the Consumer Protection Act you may cancel an advance booking at any time:

  • before the Cut-off, you'll always be offered a refund (minus the Refund Fee) as well as Credit;
  • after the Cut-off, including no-shows, a charge of up to 100% of the Ticket Price may apply, subject to applicable law and review of the circumstances;
  • if you can't attend because of your death or hospitalisation, no cancellation charge applies.

8.5 Australia. Our services come with guarantees that can't be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. This policy only limits refunds where you change your mind. It doesn't limit your rights if an Event isn't provided as promised, or isn't provided with due care and skill.

8.6 United Arab Emirates. Prices are shown in AED and include VAT. This policy, our terms and your invoices are provided in Arabic and English. If an Event isn't provided, you'll be refunded to your original payment method.

8.7 United States. Credit from a payment or cancellation doesn't expire, and no Credit is ever subject to dormancy or inactivity fees. All prices include mandatory fees. In California, you can ask us to pay out a Credit balance under USD 15 in cash. If Credit stays unused for the period set by your state's unclaimed property law, we may have to transfer its value to the state, and you can then claim it from the state.
